To all the Dad's out there...

Happy Father's Day!!  You deserve to enjoy the day however you wish.

Ben wants to say thank you Dad for all the fun and joy you bring me everyday.  Here's a list of what I love best with you:

How you help me put the basketball in the big hoop,
being tackled and tossed around,
being tickled,
sitting on your head,
how you help me go down the slide,
when you think something I did was funny (this makes me giggle a lot),
playing hide and seek with you,
how you attempt to teach me the different baseball grips while I laugh at you,
when you read goodnight moon to me in your Christopher Walken voice,
and when you give me hugs and kisses.

Catching Up

It's been far to long since my last post so this will be long.  I apologize in advance, but things have been busy around the house with the little man.... who goes nonstop.

Two weekends ago we went to Deanna Rose which he really enjoyed feeding the animals.  He couldn't get enough of the goats you feed solid food to (the bottle fed ones are a little more aggressive so he didn't want to walk around near them).  And since we have a black dog, he just wanted to play with the black goats - could've cared less about the brown and white ones, but just walked over and followed the black ones around.

Enough said

Laughing at the Goats

Self explanatory I would think, but how fitting it's named after him....or the other way around :)

Pointing to the black goats (who cares about the white one right next to him!?)

Then last weekend we went to the lake with his grandparents and some of his cousins/uncles.  He had fun there also and even though it rained off and on we were still able to get a muggy sun out to swim for a bit.  At first the water was a little cool, but he enjoyed it once he got used to it.  He thought it was funny that we were all in the water together and loved throwing his ball and blocks off his floaty to see how quickly they'd drift off.

Just before his lake debut - not too sure

Playing the 'fetch' game that he enjoys so much and we put up with

Trying to clap around his life jacket that was bulky for his skinny body

Other than that all else seems to be well - at least until he gets sick again.  He loves playing hide and seek still and being tackled by Dada, although his favorite is basketball and putting the ball in the hoop.  He still isn't really talking or saying much at all, but communicates by pointing and grunting (so gentleman-like).  Generally it's easy to accomodate his wishes, but when we say 'no' he is starting to throw his tantrums that I am really not a fan of.  Who knew a 1 year old could be so picky and demanding?  I've only heard that the terrible twos and horrible threes are next so I can't wait to see what that brings.  But really, he's a ball of fun and has a laugh that can make you melt.  It's all worth it when he flashes his big toothy grin when he sees your face or gets into a giggle fit by acting silly.  Such fun to watch his personality grow more each day.
